An ICMR-backed trial in 14 villages of Telangana’s Medchal-Malkajgiri district found that doorstep screening and treatment reduced anaemia prevalence among adolescent girls from 56 per cent to 40.7 per cent. The intervention also increased haemoglobin levels by 1.03 g/dL
